Discover Central Presbyterian Church

We want you to feel right at home, but we also want you to know what kind of church family you’re joining. This class stretches over three consecutive Sunday afternoons from 4-6pm and provides a thorough overview of our vision, mission, and values. This helps you to make a wise and prayerful decision about becoming a member of CPC, or as we like to call them – one of our Covenant Partners.

Become a Covenant Partner

We are on an exciting journey here and would love for you to join us! That’s why we want to be upfront and clear about how we are reaching Merced with the Gospel. The CPC 101 class is an important step in the process to become a Covenant Partner.

We expect those seeking membership to:

  1. Actively participate in worship and the life of the church
  2. Complete the CPC 101 class
  3. Complete a one on one discussion with a member of our Elder Board (what we call The Session) to get acquainted and share your faith journey (Don’t worry, they don’t bite!).
  4. Attend a meeting of The Session to be introduced to the other Elders by the Elder you met with – it’s a warm and welcoming conversational time of getting acquainted
  5. Be presented publicly in a worship service as a new Covenant Partner

101 Experience FAQs

There will be light refreshments, but you won’t have to worry about spoiling your dinner.

We usually provide childcare on an as needed basis. We’re happy to accommodate families with small children. Just let us know so we can plan appropriately. Contact Dave to request childcare.

We try to make the time commitment as easy as possible by stretching CPC101 over three consecutive Sundays. Classes meet from 4pm-6pm and are offered in the Fall, Winter, and Spring each year.

No problem! We know that sometimes life happens and you’ll need to miss. You can make up any missed session by scheduling a one-on-one follow up with one of our pastors who would be happy to cover the missed material with you.
